Why are some items missing from search?
Initial indexing takes time. You can search ready items while more are prepared; new and changed items are processed incrementally. iCloud items may require a network connection. Videos are analyzed using sampled frames, so brief moments may be missed. Search accuracy can vary with the query language, wording and content.
How do I change photo access?
Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad and find PhotoMind’s Photos permission. You can allow all photos or only selected items.
Can I review before deleting?
Yes. Suggestions are candidates for your review. Zoom into photos or play videos first. Deletion requires confirmation through Photos and may sync across devices using iCloud Photos. To recover items, check Recently Deleted in Photos promptly.
Does PhotoMind keep copies of originals?
No permanent copies of originals are created. The search index stays on your device and thumbnails are cached in memory. Apple may cache downloaded iCloud content. Video exports create temporary files; clips you choose to save become new library items.
How do I switch languages?
Tap the globe on the home screen. Version 1.0.1 adds Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German and Brazilian Portuguese alongside English and Simplified Chinese. Automatic follows your preferred supported system language; you can also choose manually. Update availability depends on App Store review and rollout.
How do names and nicknames work?
Open the More menu in photo details, choose People Tags, select a face and add a name or nickname. After local analysis, search those labels for possible matches in photos and videos. You can edit nicknames and confirm or correct uncertain matches. Person matching can make mistakes and may not find every appearance.
